About Us

    MISSION

    The Montreal Institutional Equity Traders Association (MIETA) is a non-profit and non-political organization. Its purpose is to foster dialogue within the institutional equity trading community, provide liaison between the Montreal community and other interested groups, and promote informational and educational programs.

    L’Association des Arbitragistes Institutionnels de Montréal (AAIM) est une organisation à but non lucratif. Ses objectifs sont de maintenir une communication au sein de la communauté d’arbitragistes institutionnel, de servir d’agent de liaison entre la communauté Montréalaise et certains groupes pertinents, de supporter la formation continue en proposant des séminaires éducatifs, d’organiser des activités sociales, ainsi que d’appuyer des organisations caritatives.

     

    NATIONAL AFFILIATION

    MIETA is a local affiliate of the national association CSTA (Canadian Securities Traders Association).
    The purpose of CSTA is:
    • To promote and improve the ethics and business standards among those, wherever situated, who are engaged in the business of buying, selling or trading in securities; 
    • To maintain communication with self-regulatory organizations and local and national governments and their agencies in respect of the regulation of the markets in which securities are traded;
    • To foster cooperation among all segments of the world-wide securities industry in order to enhance free and open markets for the mutual benefit of its membership and in the best interests of investors, foreign or domestic.
